Our Aim
When children lose someone close to them, children may feel angry, guilty, frightened and alone. It can be very difficult for a parent/carer, close relative or friend to help a bereaved child when they are grieving too.
Develop a professional service to support children following diagnosis of a terminal illness or following the death of a parent, grandparent, sibling or other relative or friend.
‘Simon Says’ aims to:
- Support children and their families in Hampshire who have a close relative or friend who has died or is dying
- Give families the tools required to move forward but never to forget
- Provide written information and resources to bereaved children and their families
- Run a telephone helpline
- Hosts monthly support groups
- Provides befriending/counseling as necessary
- Support and give advice/training to teachers, doctors and other professionals working with bereaved children and young people
Mission Statement
