Child Bereavement Support Groups

 

Who Attends?

Bereaved children up to the age of about 18yrs with a parent or guardian. Family members are welcome to attend the child bereavement support group.

When?

Monthly on a Saturday between 2pm – 4pm in Gosport (up to 18yrs)

Monthly on a Sunday between 2pm – 4pm in Basingstoke, New Milton & Portsmouth (up to 11yrs)

Monthly on a Sunday between 10am – 12pm in Chandler’s Ford (up to 11yrs)

Venues:

Basingstoke, Chandler’s Ford, New Milton, Gosport & Portsmouth

What goes on?

Support Groups offer children and families the opportunities to meet and work through their bereavement journey, supported by volunteers with planned activities, games, stories and puppet interaction.

A typical group will focus on a common theme of thought, feelings and emotions related to death and dying, e.g. sadness, anger, guilt and memories.

Young Peoples Support Groups: (age 11-18 yrs)

 

Who attends?:

Young people aged between 11yrs – 18yrs

When?:

Monthly on a Tuesday evening, between 6.30pm – 8.30pm in Eastleigh

What goes on?

Support Groups offer young people the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and work through their bereavement journey supported by volunteers.

The young people are encouraged to engage in common aspects of their stories to support them in working through feelings and emotions.
