HomeHelp UsVolunteering

We offer Volunteers many different kinds of interesting roles within Simon Says, offering you the chance to use your existing skills as well as learning new ones. Within Simon Says you will feel part of a strong team making hard times easier for bereaved children and young people living in Hampshire.

Telephone Help Line

The Simon Says Helpline offers guidance to all those caring for a child or young person who has someone important in their life who has died or is dying. Volunteers will :

  • offer support
  • provide information
  • discuss options
  • make practical suggestions
  • advise how best to support the bereaved child(ren) or young person

Support Groups

Support Groups are held monthly throughout the county, the Childrens groups are for those aged upto 12 years, and the Young Peoples Groups are for those aged 12yrs – 18yrs.  The groups offer the children/young people the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and work through their bereavement journey, through age appropriate activities.

Simon Says delivers presentations to organisations who want to learn more about the work of the charity, and we are always looking for volunteers who are happy to talk to groups of all sizes.

Working with Schools and Professional Healthcare bodies, Simon Says is asked to offer support on child bereavement, and will deliver training sessions and workshops.  Volunteers with experience of delivering training would be beneficial.

Simon Says is not government funded and depends on donations, we are therefore always keen to welcome volunteers interested in fundraising!  Whether it be assisting with a bucket collection, or organising an event!

Assisting in Office at West Wellow

We are always looking for assistance in the office – answering the phone, carrying out research, and general office duties.

We very much value your interest in Simon Says and therefore should you have any questions please ring Georgie on 08453 055 744 or email: georgie@simonsays.org.uk .  Alternatively you can download a Volunteer Application Form, print, complete, and return to the address below.

All volunteers will require a DBS disclosure, and will be required to undertake a 2-day introduction to child bereavement training session.
