Professionals
Simon Says are here to support professionals who work with bereaved children and young people

The death of someone important can have a devastating effect on a child or young person. When supporting a bereaved child, you may have questions such as: What language should I use? How can I offer the best support? Is the child I am supporting grieving in a healthy way?
Whilst we can’t take away the pain of bereavement, with appropriate support and information, children and young people can be helped to understand what has happened and gently encouraged to rebuild their lives and have hope for the future.
We can support you in the following ways
Professionals and families can ring for advice on 023 8064 7550. The Helpline is open Monday – Fridays 9:00-5:00pm.
We offer child bereavement training to suit the needs of your setting. For more information please contact info@simonsays.org.uk.
To support your work with a bereaved child or young person please see our information and resources area.
If you are working with a family who you feel would benefit from coming to the support groups, please ask the family to ring our helpline for more information and to register.
Our ethos is to trust the family to contact us directly when they are ready to seek support and to come to our support groups, therefore we do not take 3rd Party referrals directly from professionals or schools. We would be grateful therefore if you could give our contact information to the family and support them if necessary to make the call themselves to register a child for attendance at a local support group.
