We are absolutely delighted to share that Highbury Primary School, a proud Simon Says Champion School, has won the Wellbeing Award at the Teach Portsmouth Awards 2025!
On Thursday 12 June, teachers, support staff, and leaders from across Portsmouth gathered at the Guildhall to celebrate achievements across 12 award categories — and Highbury’s win is a true testament to their outstanding work in wellbeing.
This award recognises individuals or teams who have made a significant contribution to promoting wellbeing in a school or college setting. The awards committee shared the following about Highbury’s pastoral team:
Sharon is the school’s pastoral lead and Jasmine is part of the pastoral team working in her role as ELSA. They have both worked tirelessly to support children, staff, and parents of the Highbury community. Their recent work with the ‘Simon Says charity has demonstrated their commitment to supporting families with bereavement concerns. They have worked closely with the charity completing an action plan, facilitating staff training, attending bereavement groups, supporting children and families and evidencing the impact of their work. Due to their hard work and commitment, the school has been recognised as a Simon Says Champion School.
A huge congratulations to the team — your compassion and commitment shine brightly!
