We were so excited to host our very first Simon Says Champion Schools Networking Event in person!
The afternoon provided a much-needed pause from the busyness of school life, a chance to share ideas and resources, and an opportunity to build new connections.
Debs Adams, Education Lead writes:-
“Our Champion Schools are dedicated to building school cultures where bereavement is acknowledged, support is thoughtfully planned, and staff feel confident to walk alongside grieving pupils — not just in the moment, but throughout their journey. We can’t take away the pain when someone very special dies, but we can shape how a child or young person experiences that grief within the school environment.”
We were especially honoured to be joined by the charity’s founder, Sally Stanley, who shared the following message for our schools:
“Your commitment to the champion schools programme is changing lives. For children and young people navigating the bereavement journey, it can be hard and confusing. Supporting these young people through their bereavement can have a lifelong impact… you are building communities of care, compassion and understanding, and today, we celebrate all of you.”
